6G Research Infrastructures & Toolkits for a realistic Evolution to 6G from an Industry Perspective – Best Practices and Challenges

Moderator: Dr. Marius Corici, Fraunhofer FOKUS

In this panel we want to review from an operator perspective the challenges and best practices in setting up the right infrastructures for shaping a realistic 6G environment and the related ecosystem right in time for a successful start of 6G. There are many lessons learned from the 5G introduction and ongoing optimizations to assure its adoption in the different targeted vertical industries. While this reach out into the diverse application domains is ongoing addressing also aspects like flexibility, efficiency, costs, energy consumptions, etc, 6G infrastructures will likely incorporate new and disrupting technologies, such as Integrated Communications and Sensing, a much deeper NTN integration and most importantly the adoption of AI technologies in different parts of the network but also the optimization of network for AI traffic and applications.
